About Me

Axel Tolpina
To introduce myself, my name is Axel Tolpina, and I am a former competitive swimmer and swim instructor for students of all ages and skill levels. I founded Swim AT Home after graduating from Cornell University to continue my passion for swimming. I love teaching and being able to instill a lifelong skill in children and adults. Swim AT Home aims to provide fun, customized swim lessons from the convenience of your home pool.
In terms of my background, I grew up in Brooklyn, NY, and attended Stuyvesant High School. I graduated from Cornell University with a B.S. in Industrial and Labor Relations and a minor in business.
I started swimming at the age of 3 and have had a passion ever since. During my 16 years of swimming experience, I swam competitively for school and club teams for over 10 years.
After swimming competitively, I began teaching swimming to people of all ages. I served as the Assistant Coach for Stuyvesant High School where I trained competitive swimmers. I also have experience working with children at Camp Olympia where I taught campers from ages 4-14 how to swim. Most recently, I taught group and private swim lessons to people of all ages and skill levels for DanSwim in Manhattan.
